# Ref LeakLog — Press & Directory Kit

Single source of truth for every directory listing, press mention, and
partner page. Copy from here verbatim; if a field needs something this
file doesn't have, add it here first, then use it.

Everything visual in this kit is a real render of the live product — the
screenshots and video show a **fictional demo fleet** (Copper Ridge
Mechanical) computed by the production calculation engine. No customer
data appears in any asset, ever.

## The one-liner set

**Tagline (≤ 60 chars):**
> Audit-ready EPA refrigerant compliance for HVAC contractors

**Short description (≤ 50 chars):**
> EPA refrigerant leak tracking for HVAC shops

**Medium description (≤ 150 chars):**
> Log refrigerant, get EPA leak rates instantly, and never miss a 30-day
> repair deadline. Audit-ready Section 608 / AIM Act records.

**Standard description (≤ 500 chars):**
> Ref LeakLog is EPA refrigerant compliance software for small HVAC/R
> contractors. Since January 2026, systems holding 15+ lbs of regulated
> refrigerant require leak-rate tracking under 40 CFR Part 84 Subpart C.
> Ref LeakLog runs the math the regulation specifies at the moment a tech
> logs a top-off, starts the 30-day repair clock automatically when a
> threshold is exceeded, watches chronic-leaker totals, and generates the
> audit-ready records — built for one-to-six-truck shops, $29–$89/mo.

**Long-form (~200 words):**
> The EPA's leak repair rule (40 CFR Part 84, Subpart C) came into force
> for small equipment on January 1, 2026: any system holding 15 pounds or
> more of a regulated refrigerant now requires leak-rate calculation on
> every refrigerant addition, repairs within 30 days of a threshold
> exceedance, verification tests, follow-up inspections, chronic-leaker
> reporting, and three years of records. For a small HVAC contractor,
> that's a filing cabinet's worth of federal obligations attached to
> every service call — and penalties that can reach $69,733 per day per
> violation.
>
> Ref LeakLog turns that into a workflow techs actually follow. Log the
> pounds added at the unit; the leak rate is computed on the spot using
> the calculation methods the regulation specifies (annualizing or
> rolling average). Cross a threshold and the repair action opens itself
> with the federal deadline attached. Verification tests close it out,
> the follow-up inspection schedule is generated per §84.106(g), running
> chronic-leaker totals are watched all year, and every record exports as
> an audit-ready PDF — including a records-handoff package for the
> customer per §84.106(l)(4). Try the whole product without an account at
> refleaklog.app/demo — the live demo and the 50-second video run on a
> fictional fleet through the real engine.

## Feature bullets (money-moment first — pick 5 for short forms)

1. **Leak rates computed at the moment of service** — both calculation
methods the regulation specifies (annualizing and rolling average, 40
CFR §84.106), run automatically when refrigerant is logged.
2. **The 30-day repair clock starts itself** — a threshold exceedance
(10/20/30% by equipment category) auto-creates the repair action with
its federal deadline and tracks initial + follow-up verification tests.
3. **Chronic-leaker watch** — running totals against the 125% annual
threshold per appliance, with the March 1 report worksheet
   (§84.106(m)) prepared from the records.
4. **Follow-up inspection schedule** — the §84.106(g) inspection cadence
generated per unit after an exceedance.
5. **Audit-ready PDF reports** — per-equipment compliance reports and the
owner records-handoff package (§84.106(l)), generated from the ledger.
6. **QR tags on every unit** — scan at the equipment, see its identity and
   service history in the field.
7. **Priced for small shops** — $29/mo solo, $89/mo for six seats.

## Compliance-claims guardrails (bind every listing)

Copy in this kit follows the product's claims policy. When a directory
field forces a rewrite, keep these rules:

1. Never say or imply the product is EPA-approved, certified, endorsed,
or affiliated. "EPA-approved" may describe only the *calculation
   methods* the regulation itself specifies.
2. No outcome guarantees — the product computes per the regulation and
produces records; never promise passing audits or avoiding fines.
3. Compliance claims name their authority (40 CFR § …).
4. Screenshots/video show a fictional demo fleet — label them "product
demo" if the directory asks, never "customer data."

## Asset inventory (`/press/…` on the live site)

| Asset | File | Use |
|---|---|---|
| Shield mark (SVG, source of truth) | `logos/mark.svg` | Any size, any surface |
| Mark, transparent PNG | `logos/mark-transparent-512.png` / `-1024.png` | App icon fields, light or dark surfaces |
| Mark, dark tile PNG | `logos/mark-dark-512.png` / `-1024.png` | Square icon fields wanting a filled tile |
| Wordmark lockup, dark PNG | `logos/wordmark-dark.png` | Logo fields — **dark surfaces only** |
| Wordmark lockup, transparent PNG | `logos/wordmark-transparent.png` | Placement on dark imagery |
| Screenshots (1270×760) | `shots/*--1270x760.png` | Gallery fields (dashboard, money view, repairs, equipment list, calculator, report) |
| Demo video + poster | `video/demo-video.webm`, `video/demo-video-poster.png` | Video fields that accept an upload/URL |
| Sample compliance report | `docs/refleaklog-demo-cu-7-compliance.pdf` | "Documentation/sample output" fields |
| Owner records-handoff sample | `docs/refleaklog-demo-owner-records-hillside.pdf` | Deeper documentation fields |

**Usage rules:** the wordmark lockup exists on dark only (brand canon) —
on a light surface use the shield mark alone. Don't recolor, outline, or
restyle either. Screenshots and video are regenerated by the capture
pipeline (`npm run capture*`) — never hand-edit them; re-run and re-stage
instead.

**Owner-assist (outward sends — human only):**
- Some directories require a YouTube/Vimeo URL for video. Upload
`video/demo-video.webm` (or the MP4 transcode) to the company YouTube
account and backfill the URL here.
- The MP4/H.264 variant needs a real ffmpeg:
  `ffmpeg -i demo-video.webm -c:v libx264 -crf 23 -preset slow -pix_fmt yuv420p -movflags +faststart -an demo-video.mp4`
- Submission drafts are staged per-directory in `outbox/press/` — review,
submit manually, and record the listing URL + date in
  `channels/plg/backlog.md` (G6 Done entry).
